Got a FD (Fixed Deposit)? You are losing money, not earning.

Imagine working hard for years and finally saving some money.

You decide to keep it safe, so you put it in a Fixed Deposit (FD).

You feel secure, thinking your money will grow over time.

But what if I told you that your money is quietly losing its power?

Sounds strange, right?

The FD promises you a fixed return, but it doesn’t tell you the whole story.

There’s a silent thief in the background—inflation.

Inflation is when the prices of things that is considered an ideal "basket of goods" for India goes up.

So your money buys less than it did before.

Inflation slowly eats away at the value of your money.

Let’s say your FD gives you 6.5% interest per year.

But inflation might be running at 7%, or even higher.

Mind well that the inflation numbers that you see in the headlines comprise of food as 46% of it.

But, just like developed countries having a weight of 20-25% for food in the inflation number, most of us do not spend that much on food as a % of our income.

Hence, the inflation figure for us may be 8%+.

That means, in a nutshell, your money is shrinking in value.

You’re not getting richer; you’re falling behind.

The rise in prices makes the returns from your FD almost worthless over time.

It feels unfair, doesn’t it?

You work hard, save, and yet, you lose.

It’s like trying to fill a bucket with a hole at the bottom.

Every year, that hole—inflation—gets bigger, and your FD can’t keep up.

You deserve better than this.

Your money should work for you, not lose its power.

FDs were once considered the safest option, but times have changed.

It’s time to think smarter about where you park your hard-earned money.

Explore options that can outpace inflation, like equities or mutual funds.

Don’t let your savings quietly die while you’re not watching.

After all, you’ve worked too hard to lose the game to inflation.
